What is DMARC?

In light of Gmail[1] and Yahoo Mail[2] announcement to safeguard user inboxes it's never been a better time to secure your email deliverability.

 

To cut the technical jargon out, DMARC is 1 of 3 domain authentication steps email service providers such as Gmail and Yahoo Mail do to filter out bad emails from our Inboxes.

With WorkCast we automatically deal with the first and second steps, called SPF and DKIM if you want to add some words to your technical jargon piggy bank, but by configuring the last step with us you are able to complete that fully branded experience for your Presenter & Attendee emails; safe in the knowledge that the tech side is in place to keep email service providers happy to pass on your email to Customers

What is involved in setting up DMARC?

  • Step 1: Picking a 'from' email address - In this step we work together with you & your IT department to determine the best domain to use.
    For instance if your Company domain is examplename.com, we may agree that the WorkCast Presenter and Attendee emails are sent from a @events.examplename.com email address.
  • Step 2: We'll set-up a couple of things on the WorkCast side and pass a couple of entries your IT department needs to add to their Domain Name System (DNS).
  • Step 3: Then we simply flick a switch in the WorkCast platform and your emails will start to be sent as your desired email domain πŸ₯³
